What Futureworks NY Do

The team are passionate about helping and supporting young people and adults in our local community in Scarborough to believe and achieve their full potential.

Providing clients enhanced level of support, advice and guidance to improve their life skills, wellbeing and social inclusion with opportunities to achieve qualifications and support them into employment, college or apprenticeships.

How the Charity works

Currently running numerous projects via grant funding and contracts to provide an array of services to meet local needs. To enable the sustainability of Futureworks we are exploring avenues of fundraising, corporate sponsorships and attracting donations, including maximising the revenue stream potential of Furniture Works.

Our Vision.

"We aim to become more self-sustainable by generating £50k from our first 12 months of fundraising by May 2025, because increasing the amount of freedom funding we raise will mean that we are less reliant on tied funding and contracts, enabling us to be more responsive to our learners' immediate individual needs.
By our 15th anniversary in 2027 we aim to be in a bigger building, ideally self-owned by Futureworks NY in order to continue being a flexible organisation. We will remain organic in our direction so that we can adapt to the ever changing needs of our local community in Scarborough and increase the number of learners we support by 40%."

Costs to Cover.

Our service provision costs £300,000 per year for Futureworks NY to deliver all current programmes. Currently Children in Need have pledged to fund us with £30,000 per year until 2026. The National Lottery have pledged £83,000 until 2025

Help us maintain our service when this funding is gone.

Learner Costs.

It costs £5,000 per year to provide one young person with information, advice & guidance, access to functional maths and English qualifications via alternative teaching. An individual place sponsorship will give a young person a brighter future.
