Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder
The driving force behind the Futureworks brand, Sarah is the face of Futureworks publicity. Often found at networking events, Sarah is always happy to talk about the great work we do and raise our community profile.
Sarah is passionate about the work we do and is always willing to go that extra mile, even throwing herself out of a plane to raise much needed funds. What will our very own adrenaline junkie do next?
Ben
Workshop Supervisor
Ensuring standards are high in the workshop, Ben leads the clients as they develop their skills, tackling repairs and rejuvenating donated furniture.
Helping develop solutions creatively and improving conversational life skills whilst having a lot of fun. Whistle while you work is Ben's mantra.
Corrina
Retail Supervisor
Super-organised Corrina takes care of our shop customers, tracking requests and wish list items, as well as offering advice on items in the shop and support with commissions and bespoke orders.
Forever smiley and always happy to help, as long as she can reach! A friendly approach to our clients as they gain customer service experience.
Virginia
Adult Keyworker
Motivation and empathy in spades mean that Gin is simply the best at supporting our adult clients, she believes in them even when they don't believe in themselves.
Always a story to tell and a laugh to be had, usually at her own expense!
David
Workshop Assistant
Keeping standards and morale high in the workshop, David's a perfectionist when it comes to repairs. He is calm and reliable and his obsession with music sparks a lot of 'fun fact' interaction with our clients.
Despite the picture, he loves his job really! Most happy when covered in dust and repairing furniture.
Shaun
Retail Supervisor
The face of our delivery service, Big Shaun is the man to get that furniture safely to you!
His customer service skills are excellent, and he'll happily tell you all about the pieces in our shop and their design style, as well as helping take commissions, bespoke orders and tracking requests.
His sarcastic humour fits in well with the rest of the team!
Lee
Young Persons Keyworker
Delivering functional skills in a dynamic and engaging format - learning with Lee is fun. He is full of energy and full of ideas, he certainly keeps us all on our toes.
With den building in the woods, bowling and shopping trips he delivers information, advice and guidance and well as practical life skills, sessions with Lee are never boring.
Hannah
Alternative Education Teaching Assistant
Employability, exploring career options and next steps are key in Hannah’s sessions.
She is very focussed in supporting them to achieve their maths and English in order to get them there.
Hannah is a busy mum, spinning plates but not in the kitchen as she can’t/won’t cook!

Faith
Faith is a copywriter and she brings lots of professional experience, along with her infectious bubbly nature to our board - she is a joy to work with. Faith has lots of connections locally and always has her finger on the pulse of anything going on in the town!
She uses her knowledge and connections to get us coverage in the Scarborough News as often as she can. Faith also writes our blogs and keeps our website ship shape. A huge thank you Faith, for all your expertise, support and for helping to make it all happen.
Richard
Richard’s been in the non-profit world for over 12 years, working both locally and nationally. He brings a strong mix of fundraising experience, a sharp eye for compliance, and a love of data to the trustee team at Futureworks NY. He’s passionate about supporting the charity’s work helping young people and adults in Scarborough build confidence, gain new skills, and move towards brighter futures.
When he’s not planning the next campaign or attending network events , Richard loves nothing more than getting out on the water with his paddleboard, whether it’s exploring rivers, finding a quiet spot on a lake, or just enjoying a bit of peace and fresh air. He also cherishes time with his grandchildren and never says no to a proper full English breakfast (especially if there are extra hash browns involved).
Ian
Ian is our company director. If we had to describe Ian in three words they would be: supportive, challenging and enthusiastic!
Ian brings an abundance of experience to our board, and although he is constantly challenging and pushing us forward he always takes time to check in with us to make sure that we have a good work life balance.
Thank you Ian for always supporting us and moving the charity forward so we can continue our important work!
